Hard work is child’s play

Escuela Sings for Peace

“Everyone talks about peace, but no one educates for peace.

People educate for competition and this is the beginning of any war.

When we educate to cooperate and be in solidarity with one another,

that day we will be educating for peace.”

– Maria Montessori

On Friday, the Escuela community came together for a moment of peace. This event was inspired by, but certainly not limited to, the attack on Ukraine. Join in the discussion for the need for peace by watching the special gathering of our community below.

Prior to singing, Mr. Casey spoke to the community about why we were gathering:We don’t have the power to immediately stop these wars, but what we can do is we can sing. And when we sing, we create a ripple that can create another ripple. Maybe if we create enough ripples of peace, it will create a wave, and one day, everyone will start listening.”

Special Thanks to Mr. Casey for inspiring and leading this moment of campus reflection; Ms. Elora for coordinating, filming, and video editing; Escuela Guides and Staff for holding space to discuss the importance of peace with our community.
