Our staff have a wide range of talents and abilities. All of our Lead Guides have the highest standard of Montessori training with either an Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) or American Montessori Society (AMS) credential. Montessori training programs are rigorous and equip guides with a solid foundation in child or adolescent development, key assessment skills, and a rich curriculum. Many guides also possess additional experience, training, and degrees in other areas. Escuela del Sol provides additional professional development to support on-going learning and training for all staff.

Yes. All current and prospective families are eligible to apply for tuition assistance. The amount of assistance is limited and varies from year to year. The application for financial assistance opens in December.

Harwood Art Center is the public outreach program of Escuela del Sol Montessori. Established in 1991, Harwood Art Center is integral to the educational life of the people who study and grow up here at Escuela, and helps us expand the voice of our collective mission through outreach, enrichment, exploration and expression, and relationship building.
Children and adolescents of Escuela del Sol collaborate with Harwood in a variety of ways throughout the year.
Enrolled Escuela families receive a Harwood baseline membership, making them eligible for a 10% discount on Art Camp, as well as discounts and coupons at local partners throughout the city.

Yes. We offer Early Care for Toddlers through Elementary from 7:30-8:00 am. Extended Day for Toddler and Primary children is offered from 3:30-5:30pm and Elementary Extended Day is available from 3:30-5:30pm. There is no Early Care or Extended Day for Adolescents at this time. Early Care and Extended Day is an additional cost. Drop-ins are welcome with at least 24-hours notice.
Escuela offers many opportunities for parent involvement, from classes on Montessori Education, campus-wide events, classroom volunteer opportunities, and our parent organization, Sol Mates. Families are encouraged to get involved in the community and to make friends with other families. Attending events and educational evenings is one of many ways to support your child/adolescent’s educational journey and social/emotional growth, as well as to more fully understand the Montessori Method.
