Senior Elementary Fall Trek

Cottonwood Gulch Base Camp
Wednesday, August 31 – Friday, September 2

Last May, our Elementary classes were able to go on the first Trek in several years. It was incredible to see, and reinforced the value and importance of these experiences. Caring for each other, attending to community chores, physical exertion and fresh air are just a few of the many reasons that we Trek. For Senior Elementary in particular, living in community supports a deep and growing understanding of our interconnectedness and interdependence.

Senior El Fall TrekOur ideal is for Senior El to head out into the woods together at the beginning of the school year when patterns and systems are being formed. The “practice society” of Senior El involves building relationships, communication tools, systems of support and collaboration. Care and respect of self, others, and the environment are values that we live and practice every single day. This is one of the many ways we are part of building a stronger, healthier future for generations to come.Trekking is also loads of fun! We hike, build, climb, create, reflect, sing, chat, play games and more. Students are encouraged and supported to stretch beyond comfort zones. These experiences create unparalleled memories and great stories.

The Senior Elementary community will head off to Cottonwood Gulch Base Camp on Wednesday, August 31, for two nights, returning to school for our regular dismissal time on Friday, September 2, just in time for a restful long weekend.

Please review and turn in your Trek Packet by Tuesday, August 23.
